Privacy Statement for the ASA website

Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for our MyASA and E-Commerce systems. By using the products and services, websites or portals, you consent to the data we collect and how we use and share it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the data we collect, you should not use the products, services, website or portals.

Information Collected

In order to purchase products from an online store, the purchaser must enter personal information. The information collected may include names, addresses, shipping information, credit card information, website preferences, the website that referred the purchaser, and any search phrases that were used to locate the ASA website. At no time will ASA sell, transfer, or otherwise use the collected information for any reasons other than for normal store operation and for statistical or diagnostic purposes.

Security

The ASA website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under ASA control. The ASA E-Commerce system uses industry standard SSL encryption when accepting payment information. In addition, sensitive credit card information is encrypted before storing. No monetary data is transmitted without an encrypted connection. All administrative areas in the system having access to purchaser data are password-protected and served only from SSL-encrypted areas.

Cookies

Cookies are used to deliver content, maintain the identity of purchasers, and track items the purchaser wishes to buy. A cookie is a small data file that some websites put on the local hard drive when visited. ASA cookies contain an encrypted authentication token which contains the information required to maintain the shopping cart. ASA system cookies will not cause direct harm to the files on the purchaser’s hard drive by attempting to re-write other files or any other similar malicious activities. In addition, the cookies are created so that they are returned only to the ASA E-Commerce site, and to no others.

How Long We Will Keep Your Personal Data

ASA will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide the relevant services, maintain business records to satisfy tax, legal and other regulatory requirements, and protect and defend against potential legal claims.

Access To Your Data and Other Rights

ASA tries to be as open as it can about the data that it processes and recommends you ask us if you have any questions about the data ASA holds on you.

EU Residents

If you are a resident of EU, you have the legal right to make a “subject access request.” If you exercise this right and we process personal data about you by automated means or as part of a filing system, ASA is required to provide you with a description and copy of that personal data and tell you why we are processing it. As well as your subject access rights, you may have a legal right to have your personal data rectified or erased, to object to its processing restricted. If you have provided us with data about yourself and the grounds for processing is Contract or Consent, you have the right to be given the data in machine readable format for transmitting to another data controller. If ASA is relying on Consent as the grounds for processing your data, you may withdraw consent at any time.
